Dr. Kricket Koehn at Marquette School of Dentistry, class of 2019
Dr. Kricket Koehn
Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be living alongside my patients in our community, understanding and supporting my patient's goals through their smiles and oral health. My main focus is preventative dentistry where I strive every day to help patients become aware of and overcome dental disease. Since we may not have a chance to get to highlight everything during your appointment with us, please take a look at my filmed educational resources, the password can be given after calling our office. I'm so excited to share these with every one of you! If you haven't been to the dentist in a long time, this is the place to give a try. We're all so welcoming and we want to see you succeed with your oral health goals—whether they be big or small. After over 5 years of serving the community, I can say I’m surrounded by the BEST dental care team I’ve ever had and I’ve waited years to be able to help patients to the level we are today. We are always open to feedback. We take a lot of dental insurance, we do not have a front desk that is staffed (it is staffed by phone only) and we utilize a lot of technology (and professionals outside of the office) to help us to perform the highest standard of care out there. I understand lacking a physical front desk and kiosks aren’t for everyone but it can make a trip to the dentist more of a breeze and your check in experience is relaxing and HIPAA compliant. When we have times where we are understaffed, you’ll find me helping with your dental hygiene appointments because ultimately having a squeaky clean smile is most important to avoid cavities and keeping your dentistry STRONG rather than waiting to have those teeth cleaned due to non-appointment availability.
My interests in dentistry were strong before I graduated from Rhinelander high school, in addition I pursued interests in cosmetology, the forest service, and renewable biodigester energy--a unique combination--I know! Just before my opportunity in dental school, I served in a 3-month internship program in renewable energy in Germany. Since my experiences I'm thankful to have achieved the 2022 most distinguished alumnus award for Nicolet college, and the 2022 most distinguished alumnus technical school award for the entire state of Wisconsin. I also have had experience helping at a community clinic in 2024. My goals for the future are aimed toward participating in mission trips, and provide painless and almost entirely anesthetic-free dentistry utilizing more technology than our office has currently.
Dentistry is closest to my heart, and my favorite way of giving to our community. When not at the office, you can find me this spring at NTC helping to teach the hygiene program and staying up to date with the latest protocols and focusing on prevention. At Northwood's Family Dental, I am so excited to have a great team that understands my hard work, is an extension of myself, and is understandable of change in order to make oral health care not just about oral health, but overall health. I value and respect every one of my team members, so happy that they spend their working hours in our office, serving our patients to carry out God's work.
I attended Nicolet College and graduated from the University of Oshkosh with a B.S in Biology. I then pursued additional schooling and graduated from Marquette School of Dentistry and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. I returned to our community to provide a wide variety of dental services with my mentors. I am passionate about the care I provide and hold myself to the highest standard to incorporate new dental technology in northern Wisconsin and to help patients with dental anxiety feel comfortable in the dental office. I value honesty and integrity and performing the highest quality of care that we can. Ultimately— I hope to educate you to help make the best decisions and wherever possible— to save your teeth! In my free time, I enjoy digital boxing, all arts and crafts, striving to improve my nutrition, physical fitness (always ongoing), cooking and delving into pet therapy. Charlie and Meg, our dental pet therapy dogs, have been a little light in the office—helping us all with therapy work when we seek it, comforting patients, and assisting in alerting us of medical emergencies.
When you come to meet me and my team, you'll realize I'm a very real person and that our team strives to make a difference in your day, and makes you smile! You're not just meeting a doctor in a white coat (we switched to navy by the way), but use me as a resource, a passionate, and empathetic doctor of dental surgery who strives every day to help you feel welcomed and we are excited to help take care of you!
Charlie and Meg
Meet our Therapy dogs! They can be held upon request during your dental care (as long as lasers are not used!) Charlie loves people, and will do anything to please anyone. He’s quiet and friendly. Charlie realizes that he has to be on his best behavior to mentor Meg. Meg has a mind of her own— she’s grown to become even more friendly of people and super fond of children. Charlie and Meg are King Charles Cavalier Spaniels and are NOT a hypoallergenic dog breed, so we request you let us know if you are allergic to dogs and we’ll do our best to accommodate you and keep our practice clean! Charlie and Meg are very excited to greet you, and love any kinds of treats. If you bring any treats or toys, they will remember you forever! <3
